Level 2 Controlled Fill Works

In 2022, National Civil Co was awarded a $1m contract to complete a Level 2 controlled fill project for Ark Industrial for an industrial development site in Laverton. As a virtual greenfield project, and in preparation for subsequent pavements and building works, National Civil Co mobilised heavy earth moving equipment for the removal of vegetation and topsoil, and the subsequent placement of structural fill.

The project was completed in strict accordance with the relevant specifications and requirements of the project, with National Civil Co providing documentation and compliance certificates for the receipt, grading and compaction of the clean fill. This included regular testing by an independent NATA registered laboratory and on-site geotechnical engineering supervision.

As well as a site geotechnical engineer, compaction control tests were carried out at regular intervals throughout the placement of fill in accordance with the minimum test frequency recommendations included in AS3798-2007 Guidelines on Earthworks for commercial and residential developments.

Pioneering the integration of the latest technology, National Civil Co implemented and applied the latest fleet technology available by utilising real-time kinematic (RTK) survey grade drones for tracking volumes across site, offering visual updates to the client and relevant stakeholders, while shaping the trajectory of forthcoming works with assisting with the planning of future works.

Elevating our commitment to safety, air monitoring was consistently implemented across all machinery, safeguarding the well-being of our operators throughout the project's duration.
